Photon seems better (and i think Photon Bolt matches my need), but there is one thing i don't understand. Also the performance problem may be obvious. However, i feel it's designed for minigame or prototyping, not that flexible or scalable.

I want just people to host their server, in their computer or a cheap rent serverįor now, i am researching on Unet. Is it that i MUST continuously pay even when my user is doing just LAN.

Internet is fine on both ends, game is up to date, we are both using the same mods and they are all up to date aswell. Also the performance problem may be obvious. A server which has always worked before which me and my friend have been greatly enjoying now says 'server not responding' when he tries to join it. The monsters only need to spawn around players, which means they are regional. There will be several players(1-10) wandering around the world making buildings and fighting monsters. The game world is procedural generated, but i want the world to change based on time and randomness, so i probably need to cut the world in chunks and the server won't send the whole world to client. What multi player networking should i use? UNet? Photon? Or i should write my own server program? Let's say i want to rip off Don't Starve Together (Not really, but it's easier for us to imagine).
